Robert J. “Skip” Weiler, Jr

President

What expertise do you bring to RWC?

RWC is a family business started by my grandfather in 1938. I was never pressured into going into the family business; being exposed to how much my dad and grandfather loved it made it easy for me to fall in love with it, too. I officially joined the team in 1985 and soon became the third generation to serve as President, specializing in the brokerage and development of residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, and mixed-use properties.

I split my time between brokerage and development where my responsibilities include leading large-scale development, overseeing the commercial brokerage division, managing commercial and residential property, and cultivating partnerships throughout Central Ohio. It’s a core value of mine to create steadfast partnerships which have led to the transformation of our business and the city of Columbus. We’ve gotten involved developing thousands of acres into industrial and commercial developments, residential subdivisions, apartment developments and mixed-use projects. I’ve also been involved in the ownership and development of numerous additional projects including shopping centers, assisted living facilities, historical restorations, hotels, golf courses and apartment developments.

Throughout my career, I’ve represented thousands of buyers and sellers with over one billion dollars in commercial real estate sales and millions of dollars in properties under management. I was awarded the Columbus REALTORS® Broker of the Year Award several years and was the youngest member to receive the Columbus REALTORS®, 25 Million Dollar Sales Award at the time. I am regularly involved in local community organizations where I’ve served as a Board member or active participant. I was previously the Director of the National Association of REALTORS®, past President and current member of the Counselors of Real Estate (CRE), and served as the first, third-generation President of the Columbus REALTORS®

In addition to RWC, I was a founding Board Member of Insight Bank, which was sold in 2014 to First Financial Bank Corp. Most recently, I’ve also become an investor in Fortuna Bank, the first Female-Owned bank in the State of Ohio, as well as being an investor in Adelphi Bank, the first Black-Owned Bank in the state. I currently serve on the United Midwest Savings Bank Board of Trustees.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Real estate isn’t my only passion. Outside of the office, I’m a husband, father of four, and a grandfather to one. I’ve coached every one of my kids’ basketball and soccer teams and never missed an award night or sporting event. I like to serve my community by being involved in a multitude of charitable organizations that are important to me including the Delaware County Foundation, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Cancer Support Community of Central Ohio, LifeTown, Columbus Music Commission, Columbus State Foundation and many others.

What do you love about Columbus?

The people! We are genuine and kindhearted. This has been a great place to live and raise a family but it’s still big enough that there are always fun things to do.
