What expertise do you bring to RWC?
My college education focus was to become a professional opera singer but that’s obviously not where life has taken me. While I was getting my Masters degree part-time, I got a temp job at a similar family-owned commercial real estate company in New Jersey. They saw how quickly I took to the work and the team and offered me a full-time position there working in the Architecture & Engineering department as an executive assistant. I had never worked in real estate before that but quickly grew to love it. I worked at two additional private commercial real estate firms after that where I provided administrative and operational support.
Over time at RWC my primary role as grown significantly. I was hired as a temp to be an administrative assistant, but I saw there was an opportunity to add more value to the team by evolving into a project manager role. I do my best to anticipate the needs of the team so that the flow of work can keep moving and I aim to take as much off of people’s plates as possible so everyone can stay in their zone of genius. Now as the Director of the department, I am entrenched in client relations, business development, operations, team management, project management, event planning, and assist with the marketing content on behalf of the appraisal department.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I’ve become very passionate about charitable causes since moving to Columbus. I do my best to keep up with what is going on in the community so I can support local charities such as Bottoms Up Diaper Bank, The Cancer Support Community, STAR House, and several arts organizations. Outside of that, I spend quality time with my husband and we enjoy playing trivia with friends, going to Studio 35 for a movie date night, hiking and traveling. I’m also a professional and personal development junkie so I read a lot or attend conferences to meet inspired people from all over the world.
What do you love about Columbus?
I moved to Columbus during a transitional time in my life and truly feel that Columbus is the place I became a better version of myself. There’s a sense of community here that I’ve never experienced before. People care about Columbus and its not at the expense of being so small that there aren’t any amenities to enjoy. I’m never bored.
